One of my newest interests lately has been EDC, or “every day carry” which is a phrase/acronym used to describe tools such as pocket knifes, first aid kits, cell phones, key rings, flashlights, lighters, wrist watches, multi-tools and indeed anything that could be used in a survival situation, that you may wish to carry with you everyday.

I first got into this from watching the Random Show with Tim Ferriss and Kevin Rose. Tim showed a set of knifes that he has purchased, and it seemed like a manly interest to take up. I am a bit ashamed to say I ran right out and bought the Kershaw Leek after watching this video, and indeed this is a kick ass little knife. It reminded me of the excitement I had when I got my first Swiss Army knife as a kid.

I have always liked flashlights, and Zippos but never really knew there was a group of people who dedicate their lives to collecting and reviewing this stuff until I began watching a couple knife reviews on YouTube. Then I discovered Nutnfancy. The guy has 906 videos with over 84 million views at the time of this post. He has somewhat of a cult following among EDC’ers. He knows his shit and his reviews are really informative and interesting. Before you know it, you are committing tens of hours watching reviews of knifes and guns trying to find the best one.

This site is EDC porn at it’s greatest. People post their pocket dumps on that site and you can get ideas of cool things that you would like to collect, but be warned…. it’s addicting and expensive. Worst of all you probably won’t use much of this stuff but instead just collect them to look at.

That’s why this video cracks me up so much.
