WordPress is acting up.

So my wordpress account is acting up ever since I tried to upgrade to 3.0 and I am unable to approve comments so, I need to overhaul this thing and try to back up and restore the database and reinstall wordpress. You can still comment, and I can see them but can’t make them show up on the site currently. In the meantime, trove threw some of my older posts! I’ll be back in a week or so.

Daft Punk and other epic live shows

At first when you hear it, the whole premise of Daft Punk is ridiculous. Daft Punk is an electronic music duo consisting of French musicians, who dress like robots and don’t show their faces in public.

One of them was quoted saying: “We did not choose to become robots. There was an accident in our studio. We were working on our sampler, and at exactly 9:09 a.m. on September 9, 1999, it exploded. When we regained consciousness, we discovered that we had become robots.”

Daft Punk have said that they donned their robot masks to easily merge the characteristics of humans and machines. However, Bangalter later stated that the costumes were initially the result of shyness. “But then it became exciting from the audiences’ point of view. It’s the idea of being an average guy with some kind of superpower.”

BUT I’LL BE DAMNED IF THEIR LIVE SHOWS AREN’T THE COOLEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. They know how to amp up a crowd. The 3 minute lead-in, is the teaser to the official song which continues to build excitement until the it breaks out at 3:43 and the crowd goes nuts. This would have been a hell of a concert to be at. Really cool, stage show. Ironically, the whole robot thing really seems to fit once you see the show live, I don’t think it could be better any other way.

The video below has over 14,000,000 views! Clearly you don’t have to be on drugs to enjoy their shows! The combination of lights and sounds at their live shows are unlike anything you have ever seen. The extreamly bright lights & lasers in combination with the intense energy of the beat of the music makes your senses scream and it’s really beyond words. I can’t imagine anyone not liking this… well maybe if you have epilepsy.

Tobacco Maniac Meat out today!

I really loved Tobacco’s Fucked Up Friends album that came out a couple years ago and I recently listened to the new Tobacco CD – “Maniac Meat”. The music videos are always weird and sometimes funny, but I still love the music.

Many of their videos feature what appears to be workout videos from the 80′s. Which seems somewhat deranged, but who am I to judge.

So far here are my 2 favorite tracks, from Maniac Meat.
